Création numérique - impression unique sur plexiglas ou aluminium 150x100 cm - Miles Davis disait " Je le joue, je vous expliquerai ensuite. " Pourquoi raconter la vie de manière linéaire ? S’il est un sujet consensuel, c’est bien celui de la vie comme effervescence, comme conflictualités, comme fugacité.Laisser chacun voir ou plutôt ressentir d'abord. Pourquoi opposer l’abstrait et le concret : l’un et l’autre ne se fondent-ils pas ? L’univers est mathématique mais nous ne le voyons pas comme tel ; nous savons que la terre est ronde, mais où voit-on sa courbure ? Nous savons que le soleil ne « se lève » pas, mais nous faisons comme si … L’homme aujourd’hui a accumulé une masse de savoirs qui ne font jamais somme ; il s’est doté de quantité d’instruments qui lui permettent de lire la réalité derrière le réel.
L’art est certainement une expérience du monde, mais par ses étincelles, par ses éclats, ses traces... Pas d'histoires ! Seulement des fragments, des ébauches, des clins d'oeil, des regards amoureux, des sonorités, des caresses … Qu’est-ce que le paysage pour le coureur de formule 1 ? Qu’est-ce que le ciel pour l’astrophysicien ? Comment « rendre » les sensations d’un travailleur enchaîné à son marteau-piqueur ? Comment peindre les infiniments – petits ou grands – qui sont là sans se donner à voir autrement que par intermittences ?
L’artiste ne renonce nullement à sa pensée, sa mémoire, pour n’être que perception. « Etre artiste, c'est donner forme à ce que l'on pense, ce que l'on sait et ce que l'on sent » dit Art Spiegelman. Certains ajouteraient « au risque de s’y perdre » mais s’y perd-on vraiment ? Ou alors, peut-être, comme ce peintre chinois de la légende qui trouva son tableau si merveilleux qu’il y entra !
